Who are the Creators

Like the Militants, the Creators are reengineered sub-set humans designed by the Transgeneticists.

But as a class, they are much more diverse and psychologically fragile. Neuroticism is a common affliction. Suicide is also common. More so than any other group, they are the least suited for public life.

Their senses have been enhanced and cross-wired. Some of them are able to taste colors, hear textures and see music. Their ability to filter stimuli was reduced. They perceive everything. Faint frequences, subtle shadows, micro-movements, and their minds loop and jump and weave as they constantly generate a vast and deep mindscape of creative data.

Overall, Creators are gender fluid but there are differences in the various sub-groups.

They do have a separate home world. But as a group, they are too unstable to manage an entire world on their own. A natural born bureaucracy (non-engineered humans) supplemented by Worker/Drones supports the various Creator sub-groups.

Their art is highly sought after. But their primary value is in perceiving reality in different wavelengths from everyone else.

The Dream Catchers, one of the more stable groups, are able to enter into waking lucid dream states which allows them to consciously harvest the surreal architecture of the subconscious mind. They are sometimes used in Psian communions and to analyze macro cultural dynamics to identify potential instabilities not yet visible from other means of detection.

The Radicals are designed for non-linear pattern recognition and problem solving, and they are often used in conjunction with the intelligence services and are often found in universities and economic enterprises.

The Transcendents are the most stable of the Creator class. Their highest expression achieves the rank of Demi. They manage their inherent instability with special acupuncture needles which they use to help maintain their balance. Indeed, balance is their most devoted spiritual pursuit. Transcendents/Demi’s do not have favorites (or, they are not supposed to). Grey skin, neither the light nor the dark but a merging of the two is a physical reflection of their interior self.

The Demis have the ability to sense out of balances, disturbances in patterns in the greater culture, and they shape energy with acupuncture needles to attune to it. Demis are tasked to uncover imbalances wherever they might exist, to "read" them and to determine if the imbalances would lead to upheavals sufficient to necessitate restructuring the current order (if not to crush the underlying factors driving the imbalances).

Transcendents are not permitted names, however, they have secret ones never to be revealed or uttered to another—not even to others of their kind.

Unlike most Demi’s, the character in Star Horizon does have favorites and she has a private agenda.

One of the more stable sub-groups are the Intuitives (the Radicals are similar but they are more extreme; for example, Intuitives are not oriented towards detecting non-linear patterns). They are part of the Visible Network. Whereas there are many who collect information/data from the shadows, they do so “in the light.” They are meant to be seen. Their power is in the neurological divergence of their minds; they bridge the conscious and unconscious mind. Sensitive nervous systems send visceral signals to their gut creating tightness when something feels wrong and relief when it feels right.

Book3 is still in first draft stage. As of now, I have deployed a Demi as a minor character though one with significance; and I’ve used an Intuitive in Star Fall.
